Utility trenches: water, sewer, gas, cables
In trenching what matters is a narrow width, a constant depth and straight walls, so you do not dig or backfill twice. The narrow bucket gives exactly the width in the project, and the operator follows the fall for sewer lines.

On asphalt roads, the ZX170W-6 wheeled excavator moves itself between points and leaves no track marks. In yards and on pavements, the ZX48U-6 works without affecting its surroundings.

- Depth and fall from the project.
- Where the soil is stored next to the trench and how backfilling is done.
- If working on a public road: the permit and signage.
